Fortunes at Sensoji Temple

There is a fun activity at Sensoji, the engagement in which will reveal one's fortune. After depositing a 100 Yen coin into a slot, you shake a metal can until a stick comes dropping out a small hole. You read a number off the stick and find your fortune in the corresponding drawer.

Heidi received a self-proclaimed big fortune, and Ben a small fortune. When Grant did it multiple sticks fell out and scattered on the stones. He was evidently punished for this. After he put the sticks back in and reshook, he was granted a 'bad fortune'. Lickily, you can negate any fortune you don't like by tying it onto a wire rack (pictured above). We decided Grant left behind all his bad luck with that strip of paper.
